Hello, and welcome!
How are you doing? Hope everybody is well, and enjoying Autumn/Spring, whichever is relevant in your part of the world!
I was hoping to post my Blog Candy today, but my excuse is that my camera is in Northern Ireland, with Jonathan, Tanys, and Bevan who are visiting family, and I haven't been able to get a good enough photo on my phone camera....so you'll just have to be patient....sorry....lol.
Hopefully, the gale-force winds will have abated by tomorrow, and they'll be able to get home...the airport was closed today, because of the weather. It's their first visit, and Tanys was excited to spend time with her cousin, Donovan, and his wife and children. Donovan is South African, as is Tanys, and it will be lovely for them to meet up again.
Okay......here comes my offering for today............
I thought I'd be further on with my Christmas card stash by now....you wouldn't believe how many I have to make!....so spent an afternoon, last week, putting this one together.
The Father Christmas image is a K&CO sticker, bought last year, and the papers are from random paper pads that I have.........
This is what Father Christmas looked like when I was a little girl.......I know because I saw him! And, before anybody says anything....NO.....it was not in Victorian times!.......the lovely old gentleman just liked to keep his clothes for a long time....if it ain't broke, don't buy a new one...ha!
I made the flower from a sheet of diecuts (My Craft Studio), and inked the edges.....then looked further down the sheet, and saw some with this colour already on....duh! The leaves are from MCS.....some of you have mentioned, in recent comments, that the leaves look real....yes, they do.....all I do is ink the edges and roll 'em a bit.........
If it's a Christmas card, it has to have a little bling........... :D
Added some seasonal ribbon, stuck one of my home-made pins through it, and popped another sticker from the Father Christmas sheet onto the top.........there "might" be a few of those pins in my Blog Candy, but depends how you all behave yourselves....just sayin'......
Thanks for looking.......

Beautiful card, sis!!! I love the Victorian Christmas look. (And no I'm not suggesting that you saw Father Christmas in Victorian times, big sis. rofl) Kudos to you for making your Christmas cards before the last minute. Hugs!!!
ReplyDeleteStunning card. Father Christmas is a favorite of mine (much prefer him to the more modern Santa Claus). Your white Poinsettia is a perfect embellie.
