Hello, and welcome!
Thank you all so much for the cheers and support for my weight-loss challenge......Hubster is already getting worried about the outcome....haaaa!
Well, today is Day #1 and I've been out for lunch with my oldest friend (in every sense of the word....but don't tell her I said so), Elaine, and I can report that it was easy to find something yummy with an acceptable number of calories......yaaaaay!
Elaine saw the determination in my eye......she knows me soooo well......and didn't even mention havin' a dessert, bless her polyester socks. She's going to try doing the same with her hubster, but we both don't hold out any real hope that she'll succeed with him......he's definitely related to Scrooge, and proud of it....haaaa!
This week's challenge at Card Crafter's Circle is all about the shape......no!....not my rather rotund one.......we want to see your
SHAPED CARDS
Our challenge this week is sponsored by MelJen's Designs, who continues to delight us with magical images! Our MelJens prize is 4 uncoloured images.
I chose to use a MelJen's image.........
I knew that our grandson, Henry, would really enjoy having this for his recent 5th birthday.....he loves trucks, tractors, diggers, motorbikes....all the big, noisy, dirty vehicles, in fact.......so this had to be for him!
It was a doddle to enlarge and print out the Monster Truck 3 times onto different card and papers.....then I cut out the different pieces, and placed them onto the base image.
I embossed the wheels (Pauline, our Boss Lady, thought they looked like waffles....haaa) and finished 'em off with Card Candi.....one for the headlight, too.............I cut out the window, and placed patterned paper on the inside of the card, then stamped a greeting so it could be seen through the window......
Cute, or what?
Henry loved it......errrrr....well, he opened it, looked, and said, "Thanks, Grandma".....heehee!
Here's recent photo of the little chappie
This was a week before he turned 5 years old.
He'd just completed a 6 mile bike ride for charity........told ya he liked vehicles. lol.....
He has always reminded me, very much, of our youngest, Jonathan.......blonde hair, blue eyes, cheeky grin......melts me heart!
It's been lovely to see some of you joining our challenges.......makes me proud 'cos you are one of "mine"...haaa!
Hugs,
Anne-Marie x

A great card, no wonder your GSon loved it. I like the texture you used for the wheels, never mind the boss-lady, waffles indeed!!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! No dessert will be worth it when you get that new wardrobe!
ReplyDeleteThis card is soooooo cute!!! I just love it even if I don't love all vehicles like your GS does!
Oh wow what a fabulous card...amazing... oh desert is my downfall.xxx
ReplyDeleteOh my, glad I popped in. Weight loss and challenge? Going to mosey back a bit. Love the card but have to agree, the wheels do look like waffles - yummy waffles at that. Great job and good for Henry riding that bike for causes!
ReplyDeleteThis card is totally brilliant! You know I simply adored it when I saw the sneak peek, and I've not changed my mind one iota since! Our Mason was (and still is) much like your Henry - was riding his first 2-wheeler at 3 yrs. and now at 16 wants a motor bike! Where do they get these obsessions? Congrats on the sticking with the diet -- the first few days are always the hardest, so super kudos to you for going out and still being resolved. Hugs at you!
ReplyDeleteGreat card the special grand son. So precious and adorable. Thanks for joining in on the fun. Hugs
ReplyDeleteYour card is fantastic and so much fun. I've never seen anything like it. Thanks for playing in the Avadares Challenge Blog.
ReplyDeleteBlessing hugs,
Teresa
Great idea to emboss the wheels! I say I'm not going to make cards for kids because I get the same response, thanks Aunty, they probably figure they color, I color, what's the big deal, lol. And then I make them a card. This is the perfect 5 year-old grandson card. And good for him to be in a charity bike ride at his age. Thank-you for sharing with us at The Poodles Parlour!
