Hi, and welcome!
I really do feel that I need to apologise for not being around much, lately.
I'm getting quite frustrated that my crafting time seems to be getting shorter, and even when I make a definite plan to get into my craft room, and try to get back into the swing of creating, something always seems to stop me from finishing anything....or, on some days, even makin' a flippin' start!
A while back, I told my family and friends that I wanted to have Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays to spend at least half of the day crafting..........expecting that I'd be lucky to get a couple of hours on each of those days.
Nope.
Having a large family is wonderful......it really is........but sometimes I wish I could job-share!
I seem to live with degrees of guilt always present.........I don't give enough time to my Mam........I don't spend enough time with my hubby........my girls argue about whose turn it is to spend a day with me.........my grandchildren don't spend enough one-on-one time with me.....I don't see my friends enough.....my Church duties are always behind........I seem to be always playing "catch-up" with my housework......and on, and on.......and crafting gets squeezed in at odd moments, and I feel constantly frustrated!!!
Rant over.
I've got one card to show.........made it a few weeks back, to give to a friend's grandchild, but forgot all about it.....typical.......
Again......sheeeeesh......a quick and simple card. A basic step card, loaded up with yummy cupcakes from a Dawn Bibby kit.......
Sorry about the pics....I was rushing, as usual! I folded a A4 piece of blue glittered card into the steps, then layered a cupcake banner across the back top, with a scalloped border underneath.......did the same for the bottom front, and placed die cut cupcakes in back and front.......
Added a glittery sentiment card.....and rushed off to do something else...haaaa!
Keep your fingers crossed that I'll get a bit more completed, this week.....I've got sooooo many ideas, and it's drivin' me nuts that I can't get the time to do any of 'em...haaa!
Hugs,
Anne-Marie x

Take a deep breath Anne-Marie and start singing! I watched a movie once- Anger Management and the man was told to sing "I Feel Pretty" when he was really angry and from that time on I think of that song and it makes me laugh! May you find some joy in all the business!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, your card is beautiful and I love the step design you've used!
That is the life of a woman always playing catch up as for the house work well that wil still be there when you eventually get round to it lol (that's what I say anyway haha any way a great card and I am sure she will love it

ReplyDeleteLife does get in the way doesn't it,I only have one Daughter that lives close and to be honest she has her own life to lead so we are lucky if we get to see her and our granddaughter once a fortnight.we have to travel 80miles to see our boys so can't do that to often. That's why I have more time to craft, but I wish we had them round more....
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous, love those cupcakes.xxx
What a bright and cheerful card! It is a darling design and you've done a wonderful job of coloring the little cupcakes. Thank so much for sharing this adorable card with us at Simon Says Stamp and Show. <3 Candy
ReplyDeleteCute card and when you figure out how to get that time, PLEASE send me an e-mail so I can apply here. Seriously!
ReplyDeleteSuch an adorable card. Cupcakes and sparkles are a perfect combo.
ReplyDeleteI'm wishing you more craft time and peace of mind sweet big sis. Let the housework go. Put several get well cards on the mantle and if someone drops in, pretend the house looks awful, because you're recovering from an illness. :) Hugs!!!
"Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays" even for half a day, that's asking a bit much!! only joking, pullin' you leg, and all that.
ReplyDeleteLeave the housework, it will get done as needs be...
Lovely card, I love step cards, they look special even if they are easy to do!

Oh and thanks for joining us at CES this week and good luck.
Know exactly how you feel! I have actually decided that I'm not going to try to squeeze craft time in for a few more days until my work load lets up. But then, I am going to be a crafting fool for a few hours!! Hoping you find some you time in the middle of caring for everyone else! It's not selfish to make your own mental health a little better!
ReplyDeleteOn to your lovely card! YUMMY!!! All those wonderful colors and rows of cupcakes are perfect for a birthday card!!
