Christmas Copy-Cat.......

Hello. and welcome!

Happy Bonfire Night to everybody in the UK.........what's the Guy Fawkes equivalent of "Bah Humbug"?  If I knew that, it would be written in foot high letters at the front of my house!
I've never really been a fan of the yearly event.....had a "banger" thrown at my foot, when I was about 5 years old, and it stuck to, and burnt into, my sock.....I've still got a tiny scar, just under my ankle.....so fireworks are very pretty to watch.......from a distance......but I'd rather do without, thank you!

So, what did I do to take my mind off all the bangs, whizzes and kerflumps that were goin' on....and still are!....in my neighbourhood?

Yep.....made a Christmas card......you know me so well....ha!

I received a wonderful surprise from the very generous and talented Sara over at http://www.foldedpaperprintedpixels.com/
She sent me the most gorgeous Christmas card along with a whole bundle of Christmas- related goodies.......THANK YOU, SARA!

Well,  let me tell you, that Christmas card was just so pretty that I decided I had to steal copy the design.....even the stamp she used, 'cos it's one of my favourites!
Here's Sara's beeooteefool creation......

Another one of the times that I really wish I was a very-much-better photographer!
Isn't this gorgeous?  She put so much detail in there....every little bit is just so lovely.....sigh......and I've just realised that I didn't take a pic of the inside.....rats!......just take it from me that it's as pretty as the outside...ha!

And here's my take on Sara's design........

The drool-worthy papers are from  the lovely stack that Sara included in my package, and I layered them onto kraft card.......a bit of pretty white lace and some kraft punched bits might have found their way onto here, too.....hahaaa.....

You know that I usually love my traditional reds and greens, but I really love the deep pink and blues in this stack....(will have to come back later to say which stack it is.....got brain-fog!).  I coloured in the sweet and lovely Winter Fairy from Wee Stamps with my trusty Promarkers, and added a smidgin of sparkle to her wings, and the snowflakes (punched with a really old Woodware punch)........

I bought a bag of these sparkly wooden stars from http://www.johnlewis.com/ .....pretty!

I printed the freebie sentiment onto more kraft and cut it out with a flower die.......just a little ink around the edges to finish.....

More kraft and ink for the Memory Box snowflake, and a cute button.....might hurt a bit, if all snowflakes fell to earth with a button attached....ha!

The large kraft mat is a Spellbinder's ......I love this one!

Thank you, Sara, for the much-appreciated inspiration.........I love your design!

hugs,
Anne-Marie x

  4. Awww such a gorgeous card to receive Anne-Marie and yours is equally beautiful. I love that sweet image, you have just reminded me that I bought her last year. So, now I must find her! I'm a big fan of using Kraft on Christmas cards, I love the effect you have achieved by inking the edges. Thanks for the inspiration.

I saw a couple John Lewis stores while I was in England and even took a pic since that was my grandfather's name and is my cousin's name!! My maiden name is Lewis... maybe we're related!!! :) If I'd known they had craft supplies, I'd have gone in!! We probably would have missed our train but it might have been worth it! LOL
