Hi, and welcome!
Finally started to feel a bit better, thank goodness........cough is still lingering, but more an annoyance than anything else....ha!
It didn't help that I've had the last of my firsts.............what?...........Wednesday was the first anniversary of the day we buried my Dad.....so that means it was the last time my Mam has to say that it's the first birthday, Christmas, anniversary, etc. since we lost him........so, it's a kind of relief, if you see what I mean............oh, maybe not........Mam is planning to go on her first holiday since Dad died....ha! I'm so proud of the way she's coped.....is coping.........but I know he was the love of her life.....61 years together is no mean feat....and she says that missing him is like a constant ache in her chest.
But, watch out, Cuba!.........81 year old Hurricane Hannah will be arrivin' in September!!
Our weather has been very hot, and very humid.....so I made a Christmas card....ha! Roll on, those snowy days............you know how I love snow.........no snow on this card, but lots of Christmas warmth!.......
I just adore this image from Lili of the Valley......not strictly a Christmas stamp, but dressed in Christmassy colours, compliments of Promarkers, I thought she scrubbed up well!
Used some Sakura gel pens on her wings, and a white glaze one for the dots on her dress and shoes and headband....cute, eh?......and more glaze pens on the pressie and wand.......the DPs are from the Daisie and Dandelion Christmas range (from last year).......
Dabbed some glittery Mod Podge on the white Card Candi.......have you guessed I looooove that stuff?........ha!
The "ribbon" is web-weave, picked up at the local market, and I cut the snowflake from my Shapeabilities....stuck a ickle sticker in the middle....dabbed with the glittery MP and away we go...........almost forgot......the mount behind the image is debossed (just for a change) with a Cuttlebug folder.......done!
I'm going to try making a Christmas card for every "other" card that I make.......that way, I might actually get to enjoy the run-up to Christmas, instead of throwin' big wobblers 'cos I've not made enough cards.....heehee!
And..........I LOVE MAKING CHRISTMAS CARDS.......there, I've said it.........ha!
And, while I'm on the subject of Christmas.........I'm hoping....really hoping.....that more people will actually use the word CHRISTMAS this year, and not mangle it into XMAS, which I think is disrespectful to my Saviour, and just lazy.......and no, I'm not apologising that I've said that....ha!
