Sweet Anniversary

Hello, and welcome!

Thank you for the birthday wishes.....Doreen, you're just showin' off, lol!

I was supposed to be doin' some crafting today, but other stuff got in the way.....ggrrrrr......but, I do have a card to show...yaaaay!
Almost forgot that I hadn't posted this one, because it was actually given to my daughter (Gillian) and son-in-law (Ian) for their 12th wedding anniversary, 19th June.
It's quite similar to one that I posted a week or so ago, because I liked the layout, and that the sentiment is the focal point......would love to know what you think..........

I wanted the result to be soft and feminine.....yep....I know it's for a couple, and not just the wife, but fellas don't really care about the details.....or do they?....correct me if I'm wrong, lol........and Gillian is very girlie, in a soft and graceful way........

The sentiment is a TLC freebie, which I cut with a Nestie, inked with PM Soft Green, and yep....ModPodged around the edge....same with the label underneath..........the heart was black, so I ModPodged away, heehee......

I thought this second freebie (freebie from McMahon Designs) was perfect for the card, and I cut with a Nestie, coloured around the edge with Soft Peach PM, and Soft Green.......MPodged as per.........

I would love to say that I doodled these gorgeous flowers, but they were yet another freebie digi....again, sorry, not sure where from.....let me know if you recognise 'em, so I can give due credit, because I think they are delightful........coloured as above, and glittered as above.  Have I ever mentioned that the famous MP gives a kind of thickness to the paper, so the image becomes more substantial...that stuff is miraculous, lol.........used a Martha Stewart border punch, inked........

I like the contrast to the soft colours that the black and white gingham ribbon gives...........the pins were clear crystal topped, so coloured with a black Sharpie...........

How d'ya like the ickle butterfly? I won her, and three other fabby digis, from http://deliciousdoodles.blogspot.com/.  I coloured and glittered as above, and thought she looked lovely in that corner, lol!

By the way, the DPs are from a WR Memorykeepers stack that I found for £1 at T.K.Max, when we were in Cornwall....bargain!
Hopin' to get at least one card made tomorrow....can somebody please come and stand guard on my porch......must do somethin' about that flashin' light that goes off, every time I step into my craft room!!
See you later,

How many more male cards, then?

Hello, and welcome!

Yep, got another one........don't know about you, but I'm cravin' flowers, gems 'n' lace, lol!

Think back to Finlay's card (You're Super)....here's a reminder.......

Well, I thought you might like to see Finlay, in his Super Finlay costume that his Auntie Leigh-Anne made for him.......

Does he look pleased, or what?!
His 5th birthday party was a great success, with 23,723 super heroes flying around.......:D......that's what it seemed like, anyhow!

Anyway......the next grandson to be celebrating a birthday will be Henry........he turns 4 years old in a couple of weeks, and he ADORES Buzz Lightyear.....so here's his card........

Base is green textured cardstock, with a strip of DP along the bottom........

The tag is from a chipboard set by Brenda Pinnock, as is the paper, frame and ribbon.......got a HUGE box of her stuff that I really need to use, heehee..........and the red star brad is from stash..........and I just inked purple ink around all the edges........

I put some of the DP behind the frame, and coloured Buzz with my usual PMs, (I think I'm a little bit in love with Buzz...all that manliness...sigh), and popped him up on foam dots........the number is from the same set.

So, easy-peasy card for my ickle man.........he's going to have Toy Story bouncy castles at his party....and here's the cheeky chappy himself.....

Love that boy!

Hope you like.....and thanks for droppin' in!

Ickle Baby Boy Card

Hi, and welcome!

So....we're goin' to have a heatwave over the next 48 hours........you'll find me in the 'fridge.....pass the ice-cubes!
I know I may have mentioned one or two dozen times that I really, really dislike the heat, but partner it with high humidity....which is what is due, very soon......and our electricity bill is gonna hit an all-time high......when's the next flight to Iceland??

Speaking of Iceland......a lady in our ward, at Church, gave birth to her second baby last week.....a boy.  Her husband is from Iceland, and they have named their new son, Benjamin Helgi.....his Daddy is called Helgi......and I'm hopin' he'll let me rent his old home in that cold 'n' frosty place, just 'til my gardens harden with frost again, LOL.

D' you think this ickle card might swing it for me?........

I like the soft colours....the Forever Friends decoupage came in a free booklet with a magazine, along with the gingham and the yellow paper......oooooo I love freebies!

This cute sentiment is a Melissa Francis sticker, which I stuck onto white card and did my usual hand-stitching with blue thread to match.......it's layered onto yellow spotty paper, which is layered onto white card, all edged with blue ink........

Used a scrap piece of toning yellow card and cut with a Nestie, then layered up the decoupage.....I always seem to forget how much fun decoupage can be............thought this ickle fella was just right for a baby boy card...........

Found the ribbon in my stash........boy, have I got a ton of ribbon!.......and the sentiment is another sticker from the Melissa Francis sticker sheet, which I put in the centre of a shiny yellow button...........

Used some of that yellow spotty paper to cut the pretty lace, which I lightly edged with blue ink....glad I rounded those corners :)

And this is the very simple inside...........will write the message in baby-blue ink....job done!

If you don't hear from me over the next few days, I'm in Iceland!

Hubster Birthday Card

Hi, and welcome!

I almost feel like I should be apologising for yet another MALE card....but it certainly wasn't me who planned all these summer birthday boys!
Ho hum.......so........this one was for my Hubster's birthday, on Tuesday just gone....he turned 52...............er........that was his take on it....he was actually 62, but could get away with the former, lol.
Don't know if you caught it, but Tuesday was 21st June....the longest day of the year......and that is most certainly what his late Mum used to call it!  Why?  Let me tell ya.......he was her second baby....first baby was 7 years earlier, and weighed 11 pounds 2 ounces....took her all those years to pluck up the courage to have another one, poor love.
The big day dawned, (BIG plays a definite part in this) and the labour pains were gettin' fast 'n' furious....these were the days when you had your baby at home......but she couldn't make it up the stairs....she was 5 feet 3 inches and small framed......so her new baby boy was actually born on the dining room table......all 15 pounds of him!!  Longest day of the year?  Certainly was for her, ha!
Suffice it to say, he was her last baby!!

He's still a bonny boy....and passed on the big-baby-gene.......all our five were well above average....ha!

Here's the card I made for him...............

Let me make this very clear.......the only thing about this fella that actually looks like the real-life Hubster is the colour of the hair....kinda......

I chose the image (digi freebie) 'cos I knew it would make him laugh....the nearest the Hubster gets to lifting iron is watchin' me....no, really....I have ickle one pound hand irons, just like these, that I have to use as part of my management of the flippin' lymphodema!

I cut kraft circles and hand-stitched for a bit of texture, then popped a button on 'em.........

The two DPs are from my scrap heap (yep...it's a heap...or three), and the strip under the buttons is another scrap....all inked around the edges.......

And the finishing touch was another digi freebie.......love these tickets!

Let me know what you think.......be nice :D

Ask me where I've been!!

Hello, and welcome!

A special welcome to Jacki, who is a new follower....wavin' atcha, Jacki!

Well, I'll tell ya where I've been....for the past flippin' week I've been right here, twiddlin' my thumbs, waitin' to get back on-line!  My poor ickle, hardworking netbook seemed to have a humuongous virus that got into every nook and cranny, and other nefarious places......screens flashin' and closin'.....pop-ups that no lady should be lookin' at.....and my in-house 'puter nerd (sorry Ian) couldn't look at it 'til last night, and then, within a few minutes, he'd diagnosed the problem....turn off the router and switch back on!!!
Who knew?!

So, got just a tad of catchin' up to do........skimmed the emails...deleted.....now workin' through over 300 blog posts......and NO.....I can't skim......all those bloggers are talkin' to ME, so 'twould be rude to ignore 'em, lol!

Got a card for you.........

Wanted a pretty, feminine card for a good friend in the U.S......so I'm hopin' she liked it......
white textured card blank, layered with scraps (that heap is NOT gettin' smaller) and more of the same white cardstock, which I punched with a Martha Stewart lace edge border punch..... inked the edges after using a corner punch.....

The sentiment is a freebie digi (I think TLC), which I cut with a Nestie, edged with ink, and then glittered up with ModPodge (that ickle pot goes on and on!), then layered onto another Nestie label, which was a different shape....I like the effect.......

I'm quite chuffed with how these flowers turned out.....wanted different sizes of the same flower and didn't have anything suitable, so I doodled 'em onto cream copy paper...YEP! Me!....never doodled before, so was quite pleased with 'em.  Cut them out, inked the petals with peach Promarkers, filled in the centres with black Promarker, gliitered with MP, and put a dollop of Anita's 3D glaze in the centres.......

That's the lacy border punch on the bottom of the white cardstock layer...just a touch of the peach PM, and tied the black gingham ribbon around, then added the peachy/pinky glittery strip (it's just pushed through the knot in the gingham bow)....

Oops....almost forgot to mention the leaves......didn't doodle 'em.....tried, but they looked like old teabags!  These are stamped onto the same cream paper, and treated the same way as the flowers........tadaah!

Would love to know what you think....so get in touch.... I really missed you all!

Howdy Partner!

Hello, and welcome!

Where does the time go?  Thought I was at an age where I'm supposed to have more leisure time....so who's havin' my share,  then?

Are you gettin' fed-up with my male/boy cards, yet?
Made another today......seems May, June, July, August, and September are mostly male birthdays in our clan....who made that happen, then?

I've used the same stamp set that went into my You're Super card (think it was last post)....and I'd forgotten the name of the set, if you remember....well, a lovely lady named Heidi put me right.....it was Billy from Pink Cat.......lovely set! Thank you, Heidi!

This one is for another grandson, Spencer, who is a week younger than Finlay....which means Spencer will turn 5 years old on 27th June.....he was born on my 55th birthday.......which makes me, er.........happy! Ha!

This is a photo of Spencer.......his party is going to be Cowboys themed........

How's that for cute?

Soooooo.....this is what I came up with......

The DP is from the All About Boys stack, with the green check coming from a Sizzlets pack that I'd forgotten all about, lol.......

Betcha can't guess how he's coloured up.........oh, I'm so predictable....PMs 'course........
Popped him onto two nestie labels, cut from the same DP.......up on pop dots......and added a bit of glitter ModPodge.....yeah, I know......a bit addicted to the stuff, heehee.......

Love the font on the sentiment........tried hand-cutting the label to match the above Nestie....didn't have one small enough for the tiny sentiment....does it look okay?  Added some brown striped baker's twine....like that......

This ickle fella was embossed in the corner of the woo-effect DP, so punched him out with a circle punch, and edged in green ink........oops, forgot to say that all the edges are inked!

I have a box of these cute wooden stars.....inked this one with green...glittered with MP, and stuck on a gold peel-off "S"....could be for "Spencer"....could be for "Sheriff".....lol.
Suitable for a mini cowboy?  Would love to know what you think...heehee.

Thanks for droppin' in!

You're Super!

Hello, and welcome!

So glad you made the time to drop by.....I miss ya when ya don't!
Not had much time for craftin'. last few days, but I'd started a card for my grandson's birthday, which is 20th June, and managed to finish it, today.
Remember William, who was recently baptised?........Well, this is his little brother, Finlay.......a real live-wire.......no, really, he is.......spend any time with him, and you begin to think he's plugged into the mains!  He has more energy.....and imagination....than any other child I know.....and he'll be turning five years old.
Seems to me that I'm always goin' on about all these grandchildren, but rarely let you take a peek at them.......so, here's William, with his Daddy, Ian, on his baptism day.........

William is very tall for his age........but so is Ian.........he's 6 feet 8 inches!

And with Mummy, Gillian........

This is Finlay.....the next birthday boy.....taken when we were hanging those infamous 29 stockings, last Christmas Eve, so you'll catch sight of some of the rest of the clan,  in the background, lol........

Finlay is absolutely mad about Super Heroes (any will do, as long as they have a costume), and I think he has more Super Hero outfits than ordinary clothes!
Which leads me to the card.......

Had to be a Super Hero, now, didn't it.........

I can't find the details of the stamp set, but I've had it for ages, and it includes other "boy" images that I'm sure you'll be seeing pretty soon........all coloured up with PMs, and a tiny "F" from a tiny alphabet sticker sheet, which I coloured, too.......used some of that zingyglittery ModPodge on the mask and cloak, and layered him onto some sequin waste, which was on a scrap of blue card.....all up on pop dots........

The sentiment is part of the same set, and there goes that glittery stuff again, lol......handcut a circle from the DP paper, so sorry if it looks a bit wobbly, ha!

Found the ribbon in my stash, and pinned it with two blue stars, at the corners..........

Cut this ickle fella from a piece of the DP (think it's All About Boys), and popped him up on the dots, to finish off.......

Let's see if he likes it......hmmmm!
Thanks for visiting.......love it when you comment.....who doesn't, lol!

Another Dunkin' Card!

Hi, and welcome!

Hope you've all had a lovely start to the weekend.....very hot and sunny here, so I'm NOT pleased!  Red-faced  and over-heated is not a good look on me, lol.

You may remember me mentioning, a while a go that I had four grandchildren who would turn 8 years old, this year, and that would mean that each of them would be baptised, if they so chose.........

Well, the first of the four is ......drumroll.....William!!

His birthday was last Friday, and he was baptised on Tuesday.....yay, William!
I made one of these cards for another little boy (Connor), in our ward at Church, back in March, so that was a dry run, heehee.......

And here is William's card............

This was a happy occasion, so I wanted the card to reflect that, and keep it bright and simple.....the males in my family don't do "fussy", remember..........

Again, I used the fantastic digi that Nikki over at melonheadzillustrating.blogspot.com made for me....she's a star!
Everything is coloured with PMs.......no change there, then, lol.......

The DPs are DCWV (I think).....and I love the bright colours........and the sentiment came with the above digi.........perfect!
All I did was colour and then ink around in ice blue, then stick it on a scrap of red card........

The buttons are from my stash, and I threaded them with orange embroidery floss, and stuck 'em on with pop dots.......lovely an' bright.........

A larger button, threaded the same way, and stuck onto a yellow paperclip, (got a HUGE tub of coloured ones from Staples for 99p....bargain)..........

I handed William his card, along with the latest in the Beast Quest series  of  "monsters and aliens", and got a polite "Thank you, Grandma", then the card was hurriedly passed to his Mummy, while he whooped and wowed over his set of books..........oh, well.....there ya go.....he IS only 8........and male!
I enjoyed making it, anyway........

Thanks for lookin'......

Pink 'n' Black 'n' GLITTER!

Hello, and welcome!

Yep, it's me.......back from my jollies, and not a tan in sight....just 343,229 new freckles.........honestly........I counted 'em!

Came home to find I had another lovely Follower!!  A huge welcome to Sony (Sonia).......Hi, Sony!
Sony asked how I put the stamp on the back of my cards.........it's a digi stamp that was made for me by Paulette over at createwithtlc.blogspot.com ........I actually won it, but I betcha she would make one for you.
I print it out in black and white, then colour it to match whatever is on the front of the card....cute, eh?

Another lovely bloggy friend sent me the most beautiful card, a few weeks ago, after I commented on how much I liked it (aren't bloggers generous, and wonderful?), and I sent the following card to her, to say thanks.....I was more than touched because she is going through a terrible time, at the moment, and yet she took the time to send her gorgeous card.........

She adores pink+black+glitter, so that's how it came out..........

Went with a textured white card blank, added some stripey DP (Craftwork Cards), then layered an embossed aperture frame on top.......

I typed out the sentiment from the ol' 'puter onto white card, (somebody once sent me a bought card with this message on, and it stayed in my head....there's a lot of room in there, lol)......then I coloured the background with my trusty Promarkers.....then dotted black spots on...just 'cos I could......and backed it with plain black card which I then painted with that glittery ModPodge stuff....got it from Hobbycraft thinkin' it was the ordinary stuff, but now love this glitter.......

Meet Hettie.....she's from a decoupage digi set that I got from pinkpetticoat.co.uk ages ago.......she's coloured up with the PMs, and her dress, bow, feet, and the heart on her bee-a-oot-ee-ful bum are all up on foam pads......feet and dress spots, and hairbow,  have got the glitter stuff on 'em.....love the expression on her face!

The flowers were already embossed onto the frame, so I just coloured with PMs, then added g-l-i-t-t-e-r..........

Also went around the embossed lines on the edges........

And here she is, in all her glory, again!

Hope ya like!
