All things Girlie

Hello, and welcome!

I've been trying to get to post this for most of the day.....talk about best-laid plans!  I'd actually turned down an invitation to go to see a film with one of my lovely daughters......had to promise to do it another day.......because I had a ton a few things I just couldn't put off any longer.
It's been a glorious, warm and sunny day, so out went the wash onto the line in the back garden, and I took the time to clean out Babbit's hutch whilst I was out there.....had just walked back into the house, my head full of plans for what I was going to do for the rest of the day, and in walked my two handsome sons.....they's arrived together, but each didn't know that the other was coming for a visit....and they live 100 yards away from each other!  They'd driven the 40 miles from their homes, down the same motorway, both with the intention of surprising me with a visit.....and they were both wearing calf-length checked shorts and sweatshirts......apart from the fact that Mark is 33 and dark-haired, and Jonathan is 25 and blonde, they could have been twins.......oh......and Jonathan makes a lot of the fact that he's a whole inch taller than his big brother......6 feet 1.....hahaaaa!
Of course, all my plans were laid aside and I had a wonderful time with my baby boys......need to do another shop, now.......empty fridge!

It's time for me to tell you about the new challenge at Perfect Sentiments

PSC77: Make it Feminine
CREATE A CARD AND MAKE IT FEMININE. USE LACE, PEARLS, BLING, LACY DIE CUTS, DOILIES, ANYTHING THAT A GIRL LOVES. DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR SENTIMENT ON THE FRONT.

Our lovely sponsor for this challenge is

and our lucky random winner will receive 5 digis as their prize....woohoo!

I loved making this cute card......

I used a white scalloped-edge card base and embossed one side of a piece of pink  Bazzil Basics (De'sire embossing folder) and placed it as the background......

How do you like this little sweetie.....she's called Katy Computer Gal......there's a boy version in the store, too......she's coloured with Promarkers and cut out with a Spellbinder's label.......I added some sweet teeny pink pearls to the edges......

The flowery frame is cut with a Marianne's Creatable die and I popped a lovely green fern behind (freebie from Dies to Die For and I really want this die, but it's out of stock ...tut!)......

The pretty butterfly is cut from brown card....used my Joy Crafts die for this......

I think this little sentiment is from Craftwork Cards, but the packaging is gone, so not sure.....the pretty lace is from Simplicity.......

There's a teeny dragonfly cut from brown card, and I had a bit of the lace left over, so cut off a heart and placed it inside.......I never remember to take a separate pic of the inside of my cards!

I hope you like this offering......take a peek at all the gorgeous girliness that the Design Team have come up with and come back and play!

hugs,

A Little Sketchy

Hello, and welcome!

Winter is not giving up easily, in my part of the world......oh, no indeedy.....we have gale force winds and SNOW, SNOW, SNOOOOOOW!
As much as I love the pretty, white and fluffy stuff, I'm very glad to be sitting in my lovely warm and snug living room....ha!

I'm really looking forward to the weekend because the Hubster and I will have Finlay (6) and his sister, Yvie-Grace (2) staying until Sunday afternoon.....yaaaaay!

This week's challenge at Card Crafter's Circle is a favourite with me.......I love a good sketch, and that's just what we have for you.........

This week is a our challenge for you is:

SKETCH CHALLENGE
Please follow this sketch for your card creation.  You are free to flip it, rotate it, stretch it, add to it, or subtract from it, as long as we can see our original sketch in your creation!

(Colours are shown only for clarity.)

We are happy to welcome this week's sponsor ... Digi Darla's Designs! Our random prize winner will receive their choice of  FIVE images!

If you're lookin' for something that will bring to mind warmer, sunnier days, then my little card might be just the thing, ha!

I used the sweet Blowing Dandelions.....

The card base is white and all the papers used are from a huge K&Co. stack.......I left a tiny border of white before laying down the navy paper, then matted the pink with more white......a pretty paper doily was used as a base for the image stack......

You know I love the winter months......weird, I know :)......but it would be nice to spend a little time just sittin' in the warm sun (not hot!) and blowing dandelion "clocks", eh?
This pretty girlie is coloured up with a mix of Promarkers and Spectrum Noirs......the dark blue on the dress is Spectrum Noir, simply because I don't have a near colour in my PM collection......I used two different Spellbinders die labels, one to cut out the image (Deckle Edge) and the other to cut a blue background (Large Scalloped Rectangle).....

I used two large blooms (Prima) that I chalked with a touch of soft pink, then cut a circle of dark blue felt for the centre and popped up with a foam dot......

I ran a length of the same blue paper along the bottom of the card and topped it with pretty ribbon, then stacked the sentiment (freebie with a mag) on top.....

I used another doily on the inside of the card, on top of more of the blue paper and a strip of the pink along the bottom......I cut a circle of white card and chalked around the edges, then placed it in the centre of the doily........done!
So easy when you have the layout already planned for you.....so why not pop over to the Challenge Blog to see how my teamies interpreted this cute sketch?
I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with.....thanks for popping in!

hugs,

Fairy delightful.....

Hi, and welcome!

It sees to have been one of those loooong weeks when I have been busy-busy, but don't really seem to have achieved much.....sigh......BUT....I did get to see the brilliant Les Miserables......twice!
What a surprise to hear the gorgeous voice Russell Crowe has!!
When he sang the evocative "Stars", I almost melted with delight.....ahemmm!

I read the book when  was 16 years old and it had a profound effect on me.  I also remember seeing an old film, and went to see the stage production when it was launched, 27 years ago.  It was wonderful to see Colm Wilkinson, who first brought us the character of Jean Valjean to the stage, playing the Bishop in the film.
I often shed tears during the film....but was brought to a drippin', sobbin' state when I heard one of the closing lines.....
"To love another person is to see the face of God."
Oh, my!

Anyway, it's Friday......hooray!.....and there's another challenge going on at

The theme this week is

GREEN AND YELLOW

and we are so pleased to have one of our favourite sponsors back with us

Milk Coffee will provide a generous 5 images to our randomly drawn winner.....you'll have loads of fun trying to choose from so many!

I made a girlie card with the very pretty Tiffany Fairy......

I love green!  I started with a white card base and layered on some green Raspberry Road paper.  I cut the doily shape with a Nestie from a piece of Nitwits paper.............

A very pensive little fairy, lol.....I used a mixture of Spectrum Noir and Promarkers to colour her up and added some sparkle to her hair, wings and the flowers......I haven't fussy-cut for a while, so this made a nice change........

The sweet sentiment was cut from another freebie page of sentiments.  I added some teeny pearls to the corners and put a piece of green mesh behind......

A few strands of fibres, tucked under the fairy image, make her look as if she's sittin' in a nest...hahaaa!

A couple of flutterbies, cut from glittery pink card, are the finishing touches.

My Teamies have produced some really lovely cards for your inspiration, so please take a few minutes to check out their creations.

hugs,
